MEGAN EDMISTON is currently finishing her BA in International Affairs at CU Boulder and the writer/photographer for

Region of Expertise: The French-speaking world & American West.

Niche: Photography, languages and food.

The #1 reason why I travel: I’m obsessed with languages and cultures; I want to experience them all.

Favorite city in the world (so far): Portofino, Italy.

Most incredible meal ever: Creperié La Musardière in Giverny, France. Sauteed chicken breast with a creamy mushroom sauce, potatoes Au gratin, tomatoes, mozzarella and chevrè. After I had licked my plate clean and had my fair share of wine, I was delighted to find out that the staff had sent me an order of crêpes on the house. My mouth still waters just thinking about it.

Worst airport faux pas committed: The time I insulted the French by getting violently ill and throwing up at the Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris. I guess that isn’t considered chic over there.

One thing I’d never leave without: My Nikon D5000 or any camera. The day I leave home without it is the day I’ll meat Keith Richards and have no way to document it.

One song on my travel playlist:  “A Little Piece” by The Jezabels. Came across this piece in the YouTube video “Way Back Home” featuring extreme cyclist, Danny Macaskill, and I’ve been in love with it ever since.
