In an international hotspot for prostitution, Suayngaam Jewelry Project seeks to share beauty with those who have been oppressed by poverty. Each of these gorgeous pieces have been hand-crafted by the women of Pattaya, Thailand, whose lives are constantly endangered by social injustice. Share their mission of beauty + hope today!
Don’t google Pattaya, Thailand unless you are prepared for gut-wrenching visions of exploitation, poverty, and desperation. A commercial center for pleasure-seekers, women and young girls consistently face the pressure of prostitution as the only means to survive. Brave volunteers (like our very own Dana Bruxvoort) are seeking to share their faith and resources with this community, and empower the poor of the region to lift themselves up.
The Suayngaam [Thai for beauty] Jewelry Project is a side-ministry of YWAM (Youth With A Mission)’s Project LIFE Foundation. You’ll hear more about the experience of volunteering in Pattaya with RSJ contributor Dana Bruxvoort later in the week. ALL PROCEEDS of these sales provide direct assistance to women and children living in slums.
Any RSJ reader who purchases a piece + Tweets us a photo wearing it will be included in our gallery!
